Celebrate An Oz Style New Year!

Ever since we heard all about it, we at Buzznet are anxiously awaiting the upcoming Disney flick Oz The Great and Powerful - and we are not alone! Movie lovers around the world can't wait for the March 2013 release date. The kind folks at Disney have released a special countdown to the New Year especially for fans that is sure to transport them to the wonderful world of Oz.

Check out the Oz New Year's Countdown video to see moments from the forthcoming film, which stars Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz and James Franco as the Wizard. 

To help us launch into the year of Oz The Great and Powerful, Disney is giving fans the opportunity to ring in 2013 with a trip to Seattle, Washington: The other Emerald City!

Here's how it works:

Inspired by the Wizard's journey, Disney is encouraging everyone to Tweet their New Year's Resolution with #DisneyOz for a chance to win. Tweets are collected via a Facebook application and appear in a virtual Yellow Brick Road that moves with each Tweet — eventually paving the way to the Emerald City. Bonus yellow bricks will appear at times to unlock chances to win prizes instantly throughout the month of January.
