BUZZNET Exclusive: Rachel Boston Dishes On High School And The Holidays

We've Got You Covered Nov 19, 2012

The holiday season is in full swing and one thing we can't get enough of are holiday movies - Thanksgiving ones, Hanukkah ones, Christmas ones, you name it! Networks all across the TV spectrum are set to air holiday classics, as well as original holiday TV movies. One holiday movie you should definitely check out is Lifetime's Holiday High School Reunion. Buzznet had a chance to chat with the star of Holiday High School Reunion, Rachel Boston. Rachel dished about high school, the holidays, and "the one that got away."

BUZZNET: Can you tell us a little bit about the movie and who you play?

Rachel Boston: I play Georgia Hunt, a single woman living in Los Angeles, who returns home for the holidays and is encouraged to attend her high school reunion.  Through a series of events, she reconnects with her childhood best friend and her high school sweetheart and discovers what choices she needs to make to achieve the dreams she had when she was living at home.  It's a film about being your true self.  There are also some very fun musical numbers, a food fight, and some very embarrassing moments to remind us all of our high school adventures!

BN: In one sentence, tell us why viewers should tune in.

RB: Holiday High School Reunion will make you laugh and laughter is a wonderful way to enter the holiday season!

BN: Your character pines over “the one who got away.” What advice would you give a person who is pining over someone so they don’t let that person get away?

RB: I don't think our destiny is tied to anyone who walks away from our lives.  If you have feelings for someone, be honest with yourself and the person you care about, but trust that there is someone out there who will love you for who you are and will stay by your side.  Letting go can be a long process, but if you surround yourself with people who love you and work on healing yourself, you will come out even stronger.

BN: If you could give your teenage/high school-self a piece of advice, what would you tell her?

RB: I moved to New York City when I was 17, so I would tell her to be safe! And trust your instincts. They will always keep you on the right path.

BN: What are you most thankful for this year?

RB: So very much!  My aunt always tells me she prays everyday for our emotional, spiritual, and physical health.  So i am very thankful for my health and for my family. So thankful for an amazing year of work and all the beautiful souls I've met along the way.  For friendships, for laughter, for random acts of kindness, watermelon, the ocean, and for amazing grace.

BN: What is your favorite holiday tradition?

RB: I grew up on a mountain in Tennessee and my brothers and I love to go to The Mountain Opry when we are home.  There is alway an abundance of laughter and joy and anyone can get up on stage and dance and sing.  My family also goes to a candlelight service at church on Christmas Eve.  It's such a wonderful way to spend the night before Christmas.

BN: What is your New Year’s Resolution?

RB: To love more!  I love what Mother Teresa said, "I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love."

Holiday High School Reunion airs all this Thanksgiving week only on Lifetime!

What's your favorite holiday tradition?
