A Rocket To Moon are currently on the road, but front man Nick Santino took time to chat with us about the tour and when fans can expect their next album. Check out what Nick always takes on tour and how he likes to enjoy the open road!
He is a pretty rad dude, take a look.
What is your favorite music to listen to when you’re driving on tour
Country music, like if your out in the mid-west and there’s a bunch of open land, its almost like story telling.
What’s your favorite way to pass time in the van?
If it’s during the daytime, I kind of like to drive because that passes the time but if not, I just download a bunch of movies and watch those.
What’s the most recent movie you watched?
I think, Crazy Heart.
What are three things that you always take on tour?
Besides the obvious, like phones and stuff, I bring my iPod, always have to bring jackets you never know when its going to be freezing cold at night, OH and anxiety medicine because I freak out every once in a while on the road.
Is there any city that you’re looking forward to playing most on this tour?
I think its going to be fun to get down to Florida, we have a couple festival shows we are playing down there with Third Eye Blind and Dashboard Confessional.
How do you decide your set list when you play shows?
We have kind of been playing the same set list for the past year and a half because we only have had one album out with only 12 songs to pick. Typically, we’ll do a couple quicker songs and then a slow one and a cover then we’ll do more upbeat ones. Then we’ll end with the crowd favs.
What’s your favorite song to play live?
Right now it’s a new song that’s going to be coming out on our new album called, ;Going Out', and I think that’s probably my favorite right now.
Who is your dream band to tour alongside?
Oh man, I’m going to have to go with Tom Petty.
What’s the first thing you do when you get home from tour?
I will sit in my room and eat real food! And do some laundry!
So you mentioned you’re working on some new music, is there anything you can tell me about it?
Yeah! We actually finished the record two months ago in Nashville with Mark Bright who is a country-type producer. We are hoping to release by the end of this summer.
Last question for you, are there any funny stories you can tell me that have happened on this tour?
Since we’re back in the van this tour, we’ve all kind of been real lazy and just sleeping and stuff. But yesterday we did a photo shoot for our album artwork and we were sliding down hills and getting a little dirty.
