10 Behind-The-Scenes Tidbits You Didn't Know About Marvel's The Avengers

Marvel's The Avengers doesn't hit theaters for a little less than a month, but the Avengers have been assembling in Hollywood, making the rounds in anticipation for the big day. The very first press junket for the highly anticipated film happened Thursday April 12th - and Buzznet was in the house in the middle of it all!

We got the inside scoop of what went on behind the scenes straight from the stars of the movie themselves! Here are 10 behind the scenes tidbits you didn't know about The Avengers: 

Despite being the big jokester of the group, Robert Downey Jr. admitted to being "nervous and doubtful" of making The Avengers at first. 

This is the first time ever Mark Ruffalo portrays The Incredible Hulk, and he based his character off his 10-year-old son. Awwww! 

As only one of two main female characters in the movie, Cobie Smulders said of the Avengers experience: "It was cool to be a woman in a man's world." Girl power indeed!   

With all the high-action stunts involved in the movie, it's bound that one or more actors will have gotten injured on-set and The Avengers is no exception! Surprisingly, there was only one injury: Jeremy Renner! What happened? Jeremy said: "Scarlett and I beat each other up quite a bit. I love getting beat up by Scarlett... wouldn't you?" 

Director Joss Whedon admitted that Cobie Smulders did her own jumps and flips and stunts - NOT a stunt person. Kudos to Cobie! 

If he could play any other Avenger, Chris Evans answered with "Iron Man," while Samuel L. Jackson wants to be Black Widow actress Scarlett Johansson. Why? He reasoned: "I want to be that cute for fifteen minutes." LOL

Despite all of the high-profile actors getting together for the movie, Chris Hemsworth revealed that there were no divas while filming on-set - maybe because they didn't want to be labeled the diva or they just kept each other in check.

Two of the actors admitted to really geeked out upon working with director Joss Whedon: Cobie Smulders and Clark Gregg, who called it a "fanboy wet dream." 

What did the cast do in their downtime? They played Dance Dance Revolution at Jeremy Renner's house!

Portraying Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk for the first time, Mark Ruffalo found it "terrifying" to suit up after making the wrong move of checking out what some not-so-nice fans had to say once it was announced he was playing The Hulk. He quickly realized "reading the Internet was a mistake."
